Dehorning, Hoof Trimming

The vet came today to dehorned Cookie and Speckles, and trim Angels hooves. The vet is a woman, and she just picked up Angel, and flipped her over. woah Angel ways like 100 pounds! Don't mess with the vet! lol While I was helping to hold Angel down, she jerked her head back, and got my left forearm with her horn. OW!!! Swelled up really, big, hurt really bad.

CeCe tried to squeeze between my and the barn, but she didn't fit. Something had to give, so it was my leg. Now I have a big bruise on the back of my left thigh from her horn. sigh

I also now have a bruise on my right lower shin. Don't know from what, but happened in the barnyard today. sigh

Cookie and Speckles did very well with the dehorning. Their recovering nicely.

Hoof Trimming

We trimmed the hooves on Cece, Billy, Franny, Deb, and Yoda.

Shadow's shots

Shadow got his shots today. Will need more in 4 weeks.

New Goats

The new goats are doing well. The barn yard has been thrown into a tizzy, though. All the "old" goats trying to show the "new" goats whose in charge. They'll settle down in a day or two.

Angels hooves are so bad. :( It's going to take awhile to get them trimmed down to where they are supposed to be.

New Goats

We went and picked up the 3 new goats tonight. The mom - now named Angel, and her two 4 week old kids - now named Speckles and Cookie.

We went to look at two kids that we're thinking about getting from Todd. sooo cute Little brown heads, one with white speckles on the ears. They are Ce Ce's granddaughters!

Also considering a polled doe, just finished nursing, possibly pregnant again.
